Arby's Chocolate Mint Shake

Chick-Fil-A Peppermint Shake
Jessica and I tried two different seasonal (and minty) shake flavors in December, one from Arby’s and one from Chick-Fil-A.
The Arby’s milkshake was their limited Mint Chocolate Swirl Shake. It was an eerie mint green color in a clear cup that was lined with a thick chocolate fudge sauce, the swirl part of the name. In spite of the green to trick us into tasting mint, the shake was predominantly chocolate with a bit of mint. Arby’s does make an excellent fast food shake and this was no exception, it was thick, but still creamy enough to drink from the straw.
Chick-Fil-A‘s Peppermint Chocolate Chip shake came in the creepy Chick-Fil-A Styrofoam cup and was topped with a generous amount of whipped cream with a cherry on top. It was colored bright pink and the peppermint ice cream had bits of peppermint candy and chocolate. Bits of things in a milkshake that is sipped through a straw are strange from a texture perspective. The peppermint flavor was strong without being overwhelming, the chocolate bits providing just a hint of balanced flavor.
In this comparison, both shakes are good if you like the combination of chocolate and mint. But, it’s easy to pick a winner: Chick-Fil-A’s Peppermint shake. The Arby’s version is no longer shown on their website, but Chick-Fil-A’s still exist if you want to give it a try this winter.
