Custard Mini Kit Kat

Custard Pudding Mini Kit Kat

The Custard Pudding Kit Kat was part of the massive Kit Kat order from NapaJapan. We ordered two mini Kit Kats and Jessica and I sampled one this past Sunday. I’m a little confused as to the seemingly incompatible “custard” and “pudding” in the name, but some quick internet research (aka looking at Wikipedia) yields the fact that crème caramel is often called purin or “custard pudding” in Japan.

When I opened the package, the Kit Kat smelled like cake icing, a very sweet smell. The Custard Pudding Kit Kats are white chocolate based and somewhat sweet. The actual taste was a buttery, French toast taste. I thought it tasted like artificial syrup. Jessica thought it had a bit of a caramel taste with a little butteriness, similar to the Buttered Corn Kit Kats.

I did really enjoy this Kit Kat, buttery maple syrup flavor is a nice one for a Kit Kat.
