Vegetable Juice Mini Kit Kat

Vegetable Juice Mini Kit Kat

These Vegetable Juice Mini Kit Kats were from the group of Kit Kats ordered from NapaJapan. Jessica and I tried them this past Sunday. I think we had high hopes that these Kit Kats were going to be terrible, hoping they might be the worst Kit Kats ever made. Vegetable juice in Kit Kat form just doesn’t sound that appetizing. These are a collaboration Kit Kat between Nestle and Ito En. Ito En makes a type of Japanese vegetable juice (and here’s a review from The Impulsive Buy).

I opened up one of the packages and there was a slight orange smell, definitely not what we expected. These were white chocolate based Kit KatsĀ in an creamy yellow orange color and were quite sweet. There was a slight apple taste that was very mild, a slight generic fruit taste, as well. There was possibly even a slight carrot juice flavor, but that may have been suggested by the wrapper which has pictures of apples and carrots on the cover. There was a slight aftertaste that lingered, a little grassy or vegetable like flavor.

I guess we should have re-assured ourselves by paying more attention to the wrapper graphics: apple carrot juice isn’t nearly as disgusting as a tomato-based vegetable juice might be. Perhaps these should be branded as a more palatable Apple Carrot Kit Kat which is a more accurate representation. All in all, not that bad. Does this count as a serving of vegetables?
