This Kinako Soy Bar was another Japanese Kit Kat that Jessica got for my birthday and it had some rave reviews when she ordered it. We held it until the end of the tasting, hoping that we held the best for last.

This was a long, single bar in a foil wrapper, similar to the Kit Kat Chunky/Extra Krispy bars. It smelled like toasted peanut butter when we unwrapped it. The Kinako Sweet Soy Bar is a milk chocolate based Kit Kat and the chocolate is the predominant taste. There is a faint peanut butter-like taste from the kinako soy, but slightly different from the standard peanut butter flavor, a little more roasty tasting, similar to the initial smell.

This was an excellent Kit Kat. I’m a fan of the larger Chunky-like format and it gives the bar a lot of crunch. This was among the best, if not the very best of this group of Japanese Kit Kats.
