The Great Berry Crop
I have several black raspberry bushes at my house and was waiting for this year’s crop quite excitedly. Last year, birds managed to eat them all before I could really get more than a handful. My dad managed to wrap the bushes in some bird netting to prevent them from eating my crop.
After picking berries for a solid hour, I ended up with about a quart and a half or berries or so for the first harvest. I was sampling some of the harvest while picking. My berries were a little on the small side, but quite sweet and tasty. Farmer hatchy was very happy.

That is fantastic. We’ve been getting great blackberries (rather then black raspberries) here in Tennessee for the past month or so. A few weeks back we dropped into the farmers market to get some before Erin made a blackberry cobbler and ended up with these monsters:

On the left is one of the leftover blackberries we had and on the right is a fruit from the Promised Land.
