Sprinkles Cookie Crisp
I was at the supermarket and found a new kind of Cookie Crisp on the shelves, Sprinkles Cookie Crisp. I was pretty excited because these looked more like vanilla wafers than the normal chocolate chip Cookie Crisp and I was nostalgic for one of the flavors in the late ’70s-early ’80s. Vanilla Cookie Crisp was my favorite one.

Get In the Bowl
I was a little disappointed when I poured these pale white cookies into my bowl. I came to realize that these were actually sugar cookies with colored sprinkles on top, even though the box is claiming they taste like vanilla. It’s a nice diversion, I suppose, but really just tastes like sugar without much else going on. The vanilla wafer cookie crisp definitely had that strong vanilla flavor going on and that was something I could get behind. They were much more like mini ‘Nilla wafers. It’s not like they’re terrible or anything, just not nearly as amazing as I’d hoped they be when I first saw the box.
So, Sprinkles Cookie Crisp–more like the sugar cookie version rather than the vanilla wafer version. I’d definitely like to see more innovation in the cookie flavors here, maybe a nice peanut butter cookie, maybe little tiny frosted animal crackers, or even a return of my beloved vanilla wafers. Keep working you little food scientists, keep working.

crazy awesome, you mean. I think they’re vegetarian, too. With sprayed on vitamins. Taste the nutrition.

I was equally just as excited as you were when I first saw this box. I was praying it was Vanilla Wafer Cookie Crisp. Like yourself, I wasn’t fully disappointed, I can taste the original flavor just underneath the sprinkles. I have been asking General Mills to return both Oatmeal and Vanilla Wafer flavor for years. At least they came up with something different.
By the way, they did have a Peanut Butter Cookie Crisp! And it was the most awesome cereal to come along in years. It was on the shelf for roughly a year and to my disappointment, they discontinued it.
It’s a shame you never got to taste them. They were heaven on earth!

I would love to have some Peanut Butter Cookie Crisp, for sure! And a return of at least the Vanilla Wafer version…if not both that and the Oatmeal Cookie Crisp.
