I noticed that Baja Fresh is trying to cross over into the sandwich realm with their limited edition Fire-Grilled Chicken Torta, so I decided to stop by and try it. Baja Fresh is a fairly new franchise outside of Southern California. Their claim to fame is to offer fresh, not frozen, ingredients that are cooked to order in the restaurant. It falls into the category of higher-end fast food, where you pay a little more for better food without having table service.

The Fire-Grilled Chicken Torta features a standard grilled chicken breast with lettuce, tomato, avocado, and sauce. I do think that Baja Fresh’s grilled chicken is very flavorful. Everything was quality as far as ingredients go, but probably a little bland and creamy-tasting from the addition of both avocado and mayo sauce. I would have appreciated some extra spicy zip.
