I’m intrigued by today’s post by The Fast Food Critic (their 100th) which is a comparison of 5 different cheap cheeseburgers. It’s a duel between Burger King’s Whopper Jr., McDonald’s Double Cheeseburger and their very sad McDouble that omits one of the slices of cheese, and Wendy’s Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger and Double Stack. I won’t spoil the results, you can follow the link and find out for yourself.
Personally, I’m a huge fan of the Double Stack at Wendy’s. It runs just 99cents in my area and is a hard deal to beat. I didn’t post about it, but recently, the condiments on the Double Stack changed. The current version is pickles, onions, mustard, and ketchup. Previously, there was mayo in place of the mustard without pickles and onions which resulted in a perfect blend of deliciousness. I’m sure it was done to knock back the calorie count, but it definitely changes the flavor. Still, it’s my go to cheap burger of the bunch.

i am ashamed to admit, but the mickey d’s double cheeseburger tastes better than those other ones…but only if you eat one, and only if you don’t eat anything else from mickey d’s.
